Once the space has been decided, the next hardest thing is the digging process, to make a new garden. There are certain decisions that one has to make. Does the gardener remove the sod from the garden space, or build on top of it? Nobody likes to take the sod off, but sometimes that is the only way to ensure a good vegetable garden.The site chosen for gardening might have weeds, and they have to be cleared off. To slice out the sod, using a flat edged spade is a better idea. However, if the soil is in good shape, then it would be good to build on top of it, instead of removing it.
